Approvals and Competition Rules

Date
23/09/2026

Sources checked 23 September 2026. The rules version and scope are set out below.

The right equipment starts with the right rules. Here you will find guides to the approval marks in our shop, with sources and practical checklists for those who train, compete or buy for a club.

Start with the event

First find out which organisation and which rules the event follows. Note the discipline, age class and competition level. Then use the guide for those rules. Two athletes in the same combat sport may need different equipment.

Our brands and their approvals

At Combat Store you will find brands such as TOP TEN, Sting and Hayashi. First choose the rules you need to follow, then find the relevant model and variant.

The guides explain each brand's connection and show the sources. A supplier agreement does not mean that every product from the brand can be used in every competition.

Combat Store and Norwegian combat sports

Combat Store is the exclusive Norwegian distributor of TOP TEN and Hayashi. We help athletes and clubs choose models, sizes and equipment for the right rules. TOP TEN and Combat Store are the main sponsor of the Norwegian Kickboxing Federation, and Combat Store works with Sting as equipment supplier and sponsor of the Norwegian Boxing Federation.

Three things to keep apart

  • Product approval: which model and variant the documentation covers.
  • Competition rules: what is required in your discipline and class.
  • Event regulations: practical equipment checks, any loan equipment and special provisions in the invitation.

Checklist before buying and competing

  • Identify the event, rules, discipline and class together with your coach.
  • Check the exact model and item number, colour, size and any required label. A brand name alone is not sufficient documentation.
  • Compare the product information with the federation's approval and the event invitation. Ask for documentation if anything is unclear.
  • Confirm what the organiser provides and what you need to bring yourself. Try the equipment before the event.

For clubs and buyers

Make an equipment list per discipline and class before a group order. Record the model, variant, documentation link and date checked. Keep competition equipment separate from other training equipment, and check fit and wear before lending it out. If requirements are unclear, send the organiser the model number and a photo of the label before you order.

How to use the guides

Each guide shows which sources it is based on. The check date tells you when we read the sources; it is not a guarantee that no provisions have changed since. Where older web pages conflict with newer rules, the federation or organiser must clarify what applies.
