When you are buying your first – or next – taekwondo uniform (dobok), one brand stands out: TOP TEN. As the official equipment sponsor of the ITF, they set the standard for what an ITF-approved dobok should be. But many Norwegian athletes wonder whether they can use a TOP TEN uniform in NTN – or whether they have to buy NTN's own uniform. We answer all of this here.
Why TOP TEN is the best on the market
TOP TEN was founded in Austria in 1983 and is today the world's leading manufacturer of ITF-approved martial arts gear. The brand is the official equipment sponsor of the ITF and develops its products in close cooperation with the federation. That means when you buy a TOP TEN uniform, you get a garment that is designed, tested and approved by the people who set the rules.
- Official ITF approval – all uniforms are approved for training, grading and competition in both ITF and NTN
- High-quality material – durable, breathable fabric that withstands intensive training year after year without pilling, yellowing or losing its shape
- The correct ITF cut – a wide, loose fit with high splits for maximum freedom of movement in kicks and punches
- Precise sizing – a clear size guide for both children and adults
- Long lifespan – an investment that lasts for many years
- Available in Norway – Combat Store is the official supplier, with fast delivery from Askim

Can I use a TOP TEN ITF uniform in NTN Taekwondo?
This is the question we get most often from Norwegian taekwondo athletes – and the answer is yes, you can.
NTN often encourages its members to buy the official NTN-branded uniform, and that is understandable: if you buy the NTN uniform, you support the organisation and your local club financially. It is a good way to contribute, and we respect that.
But – and this is important to know – NTN cannot require anyone to wear, or refuse anyone the use of, another ITF-approved uniform. The requirement is that the uniform is ITF approved, not that it carries the NTN mark. All the TOP TEN uniforms we sell are officially ITF approved and fully accepted in:
- All NTN training sessions
- NTN gradings
- Local and national NTN competitions
- International ITF competitions
Combat Store is the official supplier of TOP TEN in Norway and delivers quickly throughout the country.
Size guide and tips
- Measure height and weight – TOP TEN uses height as the primary measurement. See the size guide on each product.
- Consider buying one size up for children – children grow fast, and the dobok should have a loose fit anyway.
- The dobok should be loose – the ITF style needs a wide fit for high kicks. A uniform that is too tight restricts your technique.
- Wash at a low temperature – 30–40 degrees and hang to dry to preserve whiteness and shape.

Frequently asked questions
Are TOP TEN uniforms approved for NTN Taekwondo?
Yes. All the TOP TEN uniforms we sell are officially ITF approved. The NTN requirement is ITF approval – not NTN branding. You can use a TOP TEN uniform in all NTN training sessions, gradings and competitions.
Do I have to buy NTN's own uniform?
No. NTN may encourage buying the NTN uniform to support the organisation, but they cannot require anyone to wear, or refuse anyone the use of, another ITF-approved uniform. The choice is yours.
What is the difference between Elite Kyong, De-Luxe and Diamond?
Elite Kyong is a beginner's uniform of solid quality. De-Luxe is a step up with better material and finish. Diamond is the top model for students, with exclusive fabric. All three are ITF approved.
What are the green uniforms made of?
The green uniforms from TOP TEN are made of eco-friendly, sustainable fabric. They are a conscious choice for athletes who want to reduce their environmental footprint without compromising on quality or ITF approval.
When should I switch to a black belt uniform?
When you achieve 1st dan black belt, it is natural to switch to a Master Dobok. TOP TEN has dedicated uniforms for 1st–3rd dan (Master) and 4th–6th dan (Instructor), in Premium Gold, Diamond and Green versions.
