From now on, Hayabusa is the brand we build our BJJ range around. It is the brand we will prioritise when we bring in gis, belts and no-gi gear, and it is where you will find the most sizes and variants in stock.
It is not a decision we have made because the name is big. We have made it because Hayabusa has a gi that solves a problem we hear about all the time - the jacket fits and the pants do not - and because the brand now stands behind one of the biggest investments in jiu-jitsu in recent years: UFC BJJ.
What is UFC BJJ?
UFC BJJ, or UFC Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, is UFC's own jiu-jitsu event series. It was launched in the summer of 2025, with a reality series on YouTube, Road to the Title, and the first live event, UFC BJJ 1, on 25 June 2025. The events are broadcast on UFC Fight Pass.
It is not MMA. It is jiu-jitsu, with its own athletes, its own titles and its own events - but with UFC's production and audience behind it. For a sport that has long lived in sports halls and on niche streaming, it is a big step.
Hayabusa's role
The day before the first event, on 24 June 2025, UFC announced that Hayabusa is the official outfitting partner of UFC BJJ. This means that Hayabusa designs and produces what the athletes compete in at every single UFC BJJ event, and the gear for the athletes and coaches in the reality series. Hayabusa's CEO Ken Clement called it «a historic new chapter for jiu-jitsu».
It is worth being precise here: the agreement covers UFC BJJ, that is, jiu-jitsu. The fight kit at UFC's MMA events is a different agreement.
Why Hayabusa is our main brand in BJJ
Three reasons, in the order they matter to you as a customer.
The sizes. Hayabusa's Core gi is sold as a jacket and pants separately, each in its own size, and each size comes in variants for extra length or extra width. It sounds like a detail. It is the detail that makes a gi fit bodies that do not look like the model on the size chart. We have written more about it in the article about the new gis.
The whole family. Hayabusa has gis for men, women and kids, belts in all ranks, and no-gi gear such as rashguards and shorts. We can build an entire BJJ range around one brand, instead of patching it together from many.
Quality over time. Hayabusa was founded in 2006 in Kingston, Canada, and has built its brand on gear that lasts - gloves, protection and gis. We have sold the brand since the autumn, and we are the exclusive dealer in Norway.
You will still find other BJJ brands with us. But Hayabusa is the one we prioritise, and it is where we will have the widest selection and the best stock availability.
What it means for you
- More sizes in stock. We aim to have the full size run in stock, including the L and H variants that are often the first to sell out.
- Gis for the whole family. Men, women and kids, from the same brand.
- Norwegian customer service and easy exchanges. You do not have to order from abroad, pay customs duties and send items back across the border if the size is wrong.
- More is coming. We are expanding the range further, and if there is a Hayabusa product you are missing, let us know - we are happy to order it in.

Frequently asked questions
Is Hayabusa an official supplier to UFC?
To UFC BJJ, yes. Hayabusa is the official outfitting partner of UFC's jiu-jitsu event series from the first event in June 2025. It does not cover UFC's MMA events.
Do you carry the gi the athletes wear in UFC BJJ?
Not yet. We carry the UFC BJJ T-shirt, and the gis from Hayabusa's own BJJ range.
What happens to the other BJJ brands you carry?
You will still find them, but Hayabusa is the one we prioritise when we bring in new products.
Do you have club agreements?
Contact customer service and we will look into it together with the club.
Are the Hayabusa gis approved for competition?
The colours black, white and blue are permitted by the IBJJF. The Core gi is made for training, and Hayabusa does not state that it is approved for competition. Check the rules for the event you are entering.
