The UFC collection is among our best sellers, and also what people ask about most often. Not because they doubt whether they want it, but because the names are confusing: Adrenaline, Fight Night, Fight Week, Performance Institute. Four lines that do four quite different things.

Here is what is what - and what you can actually train in.

The four lines

LineWhat it isUse
AdrenalineTraining gear: shorts, hoodies, joggers, tights, T-shirtsEveryday training and to and from the gym. Widest selection, lowest price.
Fight NightFight wear: Vale Tudo shorts and matching garmentsSparring and fighting. Tight fit, sewn to withstand grappling.
Fight WeekTravel and build-up wear: bags, zip hoodies, training pantsAround a competition weekend, and as smart training wear.
Performance InstituteCompression and technical training gearUnder other garments, or for strength and conditioning.

Adrenaline: the line for training

This is the line most people should look at first. Adrenaline is built as training gear, the prices are lower than the other lines, and the range covers what you actually use: shorts for the mat, a hoodie to and from, joggers for warming up, tights underneath.

It is also the most versatile. An Adrenaline hoodie is as much something you wear every day as a training garment, and that is one of the reasons it sells the way it does in Norway - where half the training year takes place in darkness and cold.

Fight Night and Vale Tudo shorts

Fight Night is what the athletes wear in the fight itself. The signature piece is the Vale Tudo short: a tight-fitting, short compression short with no loose edges that can be grabbed or stepped on.

Vale Tudo shorts are not a fashion choice. In grappling, anything loose is something your opponent can grab, and anything with a drawstring can get tangled. That is why they are tight, short and smooth. They are worn either on their own or under looser fight shorts.

The Mike Tyson collaboration

Venum has its own collection with Mike Tyson, and it differs from the UFC lines in that it is built around boxing, not MMA. The range is small and consists of a few garments plus one pair of boxing gloves.

The gloves are the part worth mentioning as equipment and not just as a brand: they sit in a price range where they compete with ordinary training gloves, and they are not a collector's edition you are afraid to use. The rest of the collection - hoodie, joggers, training shorts - is clothing.

It is perfectly fine that clothing is clothing. Just know what you are buying: a Tyson hoodie does nothing for your training, but it is a nice garment, and for some of us the name means something.

What is worth the money

We are happy to sell all of this, but here is an honest breakdown.

  • Buy without hesitation: Vale Tudo shorts if you train grappling or MMA. It is functional equipment that solves a real problem.
  • Good value: Adrenaline shorts and tights. Training gear you will use twice a week for years.
  • Buy if you want it: Hoodies and joggers. They are good garments, but they are clothing - not equipment.
  • Wait until you know: The most expensive Fight Week garments. Nice, but they give you nothing you cannot get cheaper in Adrenaline.

Frequently asked questions

Can I use Vale Tudo shorts for regular training?

Yes. Many wear them under looser shorts in striking sessions too, because they do not ride up.

What is the difference between Vale Tudo shorts and regular compression tights?

The length and the edge. Vale Tudo shorts are shorter and sewn without loose edges, precisely so that no one can grab them in grappling.

Is the UFC gear the same as what the athletes wear?

The Fight Night line is the fight wear, while Adrenaline and Fight Week are lifestyle and training lines. It is the same brand universe, but not the same garments.

How do the sizes fit?

The compression garments fit tight, as they should. If you are between two sizes on hoodies and joggers, most people go up one.

Do you carry Hayabusa as well?

Yes. See the article about Hayabusa if you are looking for gloves and protection rather than clothing.
